At Doole Health we want to help the healthcare system and citizens in the management of this epidemic with what we do best, telemedicine.
To overcome the challenges of managing patients infected or suspected to be infected with COVID-19, we have created coVIDApp+, by adapting our already existing telemedicine platform, Doole.
coVIDApp+ is an App created to assist in the healthcare management of infected or suspected cases of COVID-19. coVIDApp+ provides a direct and secure channel of communication between the healthcare team and the patients. It not only offers the possibility of encrypted and secured instant messaging and videocalls, but it is also designed to manage medication adherence, test results and follow-up on the evolution of the patient or the suspected case. Additionally, through the platform, healthcare providers can upload information such as health recommendations and guidelines or refer to other information sources.
coVIDApp+ consists of a CAREBackend for professionals and an App in iOS and Android for the end user.

Users
One of most critical situations related to the COVID-10 emergency is taking place in nursing homes for elderly people. Managing the health of the elderly as well as their healthcare personnel has become a critical task, as these nursing homes are one of the epidemic’s biggest hotspots.
The implementation of coVIDApp+ allows easy and real-time access to key information essential to provide comprehensive healthcare monitoring services, detecting new suspected cases, isolated users, professionals under study, patients with acute pathology or those requiring end-of-life care, etc. It works by means of alarms, which are activated when a healthcare response is required, indicating, for example, when a patient needs to be seen because their situation is worsening or when it should be considered to activate testing for a suspected new case of the SARS coronavirus.
In a context in which healthcare services are saturated and the pandemic originated by Covid-19 spreads rapidly, a crucial objective is to improve the management of care provided to patients in the Home Hospitalisation Unit and to minimise contact with others to avoid possible infections.
coVIDApp+ ensures that patients are permanently connected, reporting their health status in real time from their smartphone. Thanks to the proactive monitoring, swift action can be taken on cases that may present worsening symptoms, thus optimising patient care and the use of resources.
Patients can communicate directly with their doctor or primary healthcare team through a videocall or instant messaging, in addition to receiving information of interest according to their pre-validated condition.
The Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, with the collaboration of the FLS Foundation for Fighting AIDS, Infectious Diseases and Promoting Health and Science, is launching a study to assess whether the administration of hydroxychloroquine to healthcare professionals continuously exposed to positive SARS-CoV-2 cases can prevent them from becoming infected or decrease the duration and severity of the infection.
Professionals who meet the criteria to participate in the study will receive the hydroxychloroquine treatment if they so choose or will be monitored should they decide they not to take it.
The follow-up with be managed with coVIDApp+, allowing for the overseeing of medication adherence, continuous monitoring of participants’ evolution and symptoms, as well as the use of anonymised data in order to draw conclusions from the study and to help extend the conclusions to the rest of the community.

About Us
We are a spin-off of the FLS Foundation for Fighting AIDS, Infectious Diseases and Promoting Health and Science.
Doole was born in 2015 out of a clinical and medical need identified in the FLS Foundation for Fighting AIDS, Infectious Diseases and Promoting Health and Science (Barcelona), which wanted to offer a more complete, adaptable and higher quality healthcare experience to its more than 3,000 patients. The FLS Foundation’s clinical experience and close relationship with its chronically ill patients were key to associating needs and translating them into the development, validation and implementation of a fully functional, highly adaptable and easy-to-use software for managing any medical condition.
